This knit is made by the women's cooperative of Khorashad, a village in the province of Birjand, Iran. The art of weaving, Tobafi, has been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2018.

♦ The gift pack in which the shirt is sent is the one in the photo, a card is enclosed containing a poem by Rumi in Persian, a dried saffron flower and a postcard with a photo of the photo exhibition 'Saffron, its land and its people'. Also included is a postcard with photographs depicting the knitting stages and an explanation of the project.
♦ Washing: For the first wash, it is advisable to soak the jersey for half an hour in two litres of cold water in which two tablespoons of salt are dissolved to preserve the colours. For subsequent washes wash by hand in cold water.
